Housing Society Continues to Freeze Estate Rents
The Hong Kong
Housing Society (HKHS) announced that its Executive
Committee had approved another year of rent freeze for all
its domestic rental units for the next fiscal year from
April 2006 to March 2007, in view of the current state of
economy and market.
This is the
ninth consecutive year since 1998 that HKHS freezes the
rents, including rates and government rents, of some 32,000
domestic units in its rental estates (list attached).
HKHS will review
the rental levels of its housing estates again in early
2007, taking into consideration the prevailing economic
conditions and estate management and maintenance costs.
