Hydrogen Fuel Cell System in Ming Wah Dai Ha Redevelopment (Phase II) Construction
明華大廈重建項目（第二期）的氫燃料電池系統

The Housing Society is actively implementing advanced smart technologies to mitigate environmental
risks throughout the building life cycle. During the reporting year, we set a target to reduce embodied
carbon emissions by at least 25% in the design and construction of residential units at Ming Wah
Dai Ha Redevelopment (Phase II). To achieve this goal, we conducted research and developed plans
to incorporate a hydrogen fuel cell system, which will enhance construction site electrification and
minimise emissions during the construction stage.

In collaboration with Towngas, we launched a pilot programme to test the implementation of a
hydrogen fuel cell system for construction power needs. This innovative initiative demonstrates our
commitment to adopting clean energy solutions during the construction process.

房協積極利用先進技術來減低建築物生命周期中每個階段的環境風險。於報告年度內，我們為明華大廈重建項目
（第二期）訂立目標，在住宅單位設計和建造過程減少至少百分之二十五的隱含碳排放。為實現該目標，我們研究
在建築階段採用氫燃料電池系統，以加強建築工地電氣化，減少施工階段的碳排放。

我們與香港中華煤氣有限公司合作開展一項試點計劃，測試氫燃料電池系統為建築工地供電。此創新方案顯示我
們致力在施工過程中採用潔淨能源的承諾。
