Lift replacement works in Cho Yiu Chuen at Kai Min Lau (4 lifts), Kai Hang Lau (2
lifts) and Kai Him Lau (2 lifts) were completed in February 2014. The new lifts are
driven by Variable Voltage Variable Frequency (VVVF) motor which can regulate
motor input voltage and frequency, reduce peak motor starting and stopping current
therefore to save energy. Moreover, the project adopted the "machine roomless"
design so as to minimise construction waste and shorten the work period.
