Developing Age-friendly Housing Solutions at Living Lab in Gerontechnology for
Age-Friendly Home (“AFHLL”)
於「樂活安居生活實驗室」研發推動長者友善安居方案

As Hong Kong’s first and only Living Lab registered under the European Network of Living Labs
(“ENoLL”), the AFHLL plays an active role in supporting AFH development in Hong Kong. A simulated
home has successfully been set up at the ERC for the co-creation and promotion of AFH products.

The simulated home operates under a distinctive “4E” approach – Explore, Experience, Empathy, and
Engage. This framework enables stakeholders to develop a deeper understanding of elderly needs
through a unique ageing simulation journey. Participants wear specialised ageing simulation gear while
performing daily tasks at the simulated home, cultivating their empathy and facilitating the exploration
of the practical challenges faced by the older adults in their everyday lives.
We also engaged approximately 300 Covengers and ambassadors, who are potential end-users of age-
friendly products, to test possible solutions from our collaborators in a co-creation and co-design
process. To date, AFHLL boasts a robust network of around 30 partners spanning technology firms,
academic institutions, professional bodies and Non-Governmental Organisations (“NGOs”). These
collaborators, sharing our vision of promoting age-friendly solutions and improving social outcomes for
seniors, test their gerontechnology products at the AFHLL’s simulated home, gaining valuable insights
to enhance their features.
The establishment of AFHLL’s simulated home underscores the ERC’s efforts in promoting AFH
development and co-creating integrated housing solutions for our senior residents to age in place.

作為香港首個，亦是唯一一個在歐洲生活實驗室網絡註冊的生活實驗室，「樂活安居生活實驗室」一直積極支持
「長者友善家居」的發展。為此，中心設立了模擬家居，為「樂活安居生活實驗室」提供重要平台，共創和推廣長者
友善家居產品。

「樂活安居生活實驗室」的模擬家居採用獨特的「4E」模式營運，包括
「探索(Explore)」、「體驗(Experience)」、「同理心(Empathy)」和「參與
(Engage)」。這個框架能讓持份者透過獨特的模擬高齡化體驗，加深對長
者需要的了解。參加者會穿戴特製裝備，在模擬家居進行日常居家活動，
從而建立他們的同理心，並讓他們親身探索長者日常生活面對的挑戰。

我們已招募約三百位長者友善產品的潛在用家擔當樂活安居研創專員和大
使，透過體驗實驗室合作夥伴研發的樂齡產品，共同創造和設計解決方
案。至今，「樂活安居生活實驗室」的合作夥伴網絡涵蓋科技公司、學術機
構、專業團體和非政府組織等約三十個機構。他們的樂齡科技產品可以在
模擬家居進行測試，並借此優化產品功能。所有合作夥伴均與我們秉持同
樣的核心價值：推廣長者友善解決方案，為長者提供更美好的生活。

「樂活安居生活實驗室」模擬家居的設立充分展現了中心積極推動「長者友
善家居」發展，並與房協的長者居民共同創造綜合房屋解決方案，務求讓
他們能夠居家安老。
