BUSINESS OPERATIONS

Five areas of service are covered under our AIP scheme:

Home Safety

To ensure our elderly residents can enjoy a safe living environment,

our occupational therapists conduct home assessments and

recommend any modifications that might be required.

Healthiness

Through our partnerships with the Department of Health, NGOs and

paramedical professionals, we look after the healthcare needs of our

elderly tenants by providing regular health assessments and support.

The results of a study by The University of Hong Kong showed that

our efforts in this area reduced the utilisation rate of elderly tenants

in the use of hospital accident and emergency services by 17% as

compared with an increase of 22% in these services among residents

of a control group estate which was not covered by the AIP scheme.

Autonomy

Since many of our elderly residents are at risk of injury from falls,

we have partnered with organisations such as the Department of

Orthopaedics and Traumatology, The Chinese University of Hong

Kong and the Leisure and Cultural Services Department to conduct

exercise groups and seminars on fall prevention.
