業務重點

The total number of visitors to the ERC in 2015/16 was over 14,500

(including elderly, students and professionals), while the number of

service recipients during the period was over 62,000.

Volunteer-hours in 2015/16 amounted to more than 10,000, which

brought the ERC another gold award for volunteer-hours from the

Social Welfare Department.

Elderly Safe Living Scheme

A more recent programme introduced by the Housing Society is the

Elderly Safe Living Scheme (ESLS) which was piloted in conjunction

with The Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors in 2013 to help elderly

private home-owners enjoy a safe living environment in five older

urban districts of Hong Kong.

Occupational therapists of the Housing Society conduct home visits

to assess and advise on the safety of the home environment. The

services offered under the scheme are free of charge, but the elderly

owners have to engage contractors on their own to carry out the

proposed works.
