To help us further reduce costs and increase construction efficiency,
we have been implementing the Building Information Modelling (BIM)
technology into some of our projects, such as the Total Precast
Approach for the superstructure of Greenhill Villa. With BIM, we aim
to digitise multilayer information during a development for better
visualisation, early clash detection and enhanced facility management.
As government bureaux and departments are widely encouraging the
use of this technology, in 2014/15 we began planning how to roll out
BIM for use in future Housing Society projects. During the current
review period, we had our staff attended seminars and conferences
held by local professional institutions and The Hong Kong Institute of
Building Information Modelling.
Safety on our sites continued to take top priority during the year. For
all on-going projects, we organised regular site safety seminars and
workshops conducted by the Occupational Safety and Health Council
(OSHC). Independent site safety audits were also carried out by OSHC,
which showed generally satisfactory results and enabled us to
establish safety profiles for all current contractors.
