E S T A T E MANAGEMENT
For optimal use of available resources and for the sake of fairness, in
the year we have stepped up our action for under-occupation, especially
those occupying more than 30 square meters per person. Notice to Quit
will be served on the household after it has refused to move to smaller
flats for three times with no acceptable reasons.
The policy on ‘Taking over of Tenancy’ was re-examined also, leading to
tighter enforcement measures being introduced in May 2014.
Through close monitoring and prompt action, we have managed to
contain the vacancy of our rental flats to a very low rate of 0.56%.
Happy, Safe and Healthy Living
To the Housing Society, quality housing is quality living. In our
rental estates, we aspire to creating for our residents conditions
that are conducive to their safe, healthy and happy living. Because
of this, care to the individual, a sense of community and continual
environmental improvement have become integral parts of our property
management remit.
For care of the elderly, during the year, we continued with our
‘Ageing-in-Place’ Scheme which is being extended to more estates
after a successful pilot project at Cho Yiu Chuen.
