Social Contributions
回饋社會
The Housing Society allocates funds and manpower to implement social
projects serving the various needs of the community. A total of HK$1.65
billion has been spent on these projects since 2004. For the review year,
the spending on social projects amounted to HK$151 million, mainly on
building maintenance schemes and elderly-related initiatives such as the
‘Ageing-in-Place’ Scheme and the Elderly Resources Centre.
In the coming years, the Housing Society will put more emphasis and
resources on elderly services in support of Government’s policy to
promote ‘ageing in place’.
Elderly Services
‘Ageing-in-Place’ Scheme
To take care of the elderly tenants in the rental estates, the Housing
Society launched the ‘Ageing-in-Place’ (AIP) Scheme last year to
improve the living environment of the elderly while leveraging community
resources to address their healthcare and social needs in the fulfilment of
‘ageing in place’.
Since its launch, the AIP Scheme has served about 8,500 elderly
residents and conducted about 4,300 health assessments. About 60 flats
have benefitted from home modifications.
