Membership of Housing Society
The Housing Society has 122 Members as at 31 March 2014, 47 of them
are serving on the Supervisory Board, the Executive Committee and the
various committees.
Election and Appointment of Board and Committee
Members
The membership year of the Supervisory Board, the Executive Committee
and the various committees is the period between the holding of two
consecutive annual general meetings. The term of office of Board and
committee members is normally three years, but one-third of the existing
members of the Supervisory Board and the Executive Committee,
excluding the ex officio members and the Chief Executive Officer and
Executive Director of the Housing Society, retire every year to maintain
a balance between continuity and the introduction of new blood to
ensure that the required calibre, skills and experience are infused into
the Supervisory Board and the Executive Committee. The Chairman and
the Vice-Chairman are not required to retire and will not be taken into
account in determining the number of members required to retire during
their three-year terms of office.
Annual General Meeting
The Housing Society holds an Annual General Meeting (AGM) in every
calendar year. The Chairman of the Housing Society will give a brief
account of the business of the Housing Society of the past year. The
2013 AGM was held on 3 September 2013 at the Hong Kong Convention
and Exhibition Centre, attended by 49 Housing Society Members.
Supervisory Board and Executive Committee
Supervisory Board
The Supervisory Board sets the Housing Society’s vision, mission, core
values, and guiding principles and oversees all nomination, election
and audit functions. The Board appoints members to the Executive
Committee, the Audit Committee and the Nominating Committee and
oversees their performance. The Board also provides advice to the
Executive Committee on issues of the stakeholders’ interests, public
relations and changes in the external environment.
房協委員
截至二零一四年三月三十一日止,房協共有
一百二十二位委員,當中四十七位出任監事
會、執行委員會或其他委員會的委員。
監事會、執行委員會及其他委員會
委員的選舉及任命
監事會、執行委員會及其他委員會的委員年
度是由房協應屆周年委員大會當日開始,至
下屆周年委員大會召開當日為止。監事會、
執行委員會及其他委員會成員的任期通常為
三年,但每年監事會及執行委員會均有三分
之一的成員退任(當然委員和房協行政總裁
兼執行總幹事除外),藉此平衡延續性以及
引入新血,確保為監事會和執行委員會注入
所需的才幹、技能及經驗。主席和副主席於
其三年任期內並不需要退任,也不會被包括
在計算三分之一成員退任的人數內。
周年委員大會
每年房協舉行一次周年委員大會。房協主席
將於會上匯報房協在過去一年的工作。二零
一三年的周年委員大會於二零一三年九月三
日在香港會議展覽中心舉行,有四十九位房
協委員出席。
監事會和執行委員會
監事會
監事會負責訂立房協的宗旨、目標、核心價
值和方針,並監管所有提名、選舉及審核事
宜。監事會亦負責委任執行委員會、審核委
員會及提名委員會的成員,以及監管各委員
會的表現,並就持份者的權益、公共關係,
以及外在環境的轉變,向執行委員會提供
意見。
