In property management, green measures are introduced as
circumstances permit. Take for an example, the new lifts in Lok Man
Sun Chuen installed in November 2013 are driven by Variable Voltage
Variable Frequency motor which can regulate motor input voltage and
frequency, reduce peak motor starting and stopping current so as to
save energy.
At the construction stage, the project also adopted the ‘machine-room-
less’ design in order to minimise construction waste and shorten the work
period, fulfilling the Code of Practice for Energy Efficiency of Building
Services Installation.
The Housing Society sponsors green programmes for the general public
which are particularly relevant to our charter. For example, the World
Environment Day held by the Environmental Campaign Committee, the
global lights-off ‘Earth Hour’ by the World Wide Fund for Nature, the
Power Smart Energy Contest by the Friends of the Earth (HK), and the
Food Wise Charter rolled out by the Environment Bureau.
We also encourages residents and staff to participate in environmental
activities such as the Walk for Nature @ Mai Po, Green Power Hike,
Green Carnival organised by the Green Council, Food Waste Reduction
Workshops jointly run by the Environmental Protection Department and
the Hong Kong Productivity Council, and the annual Hong Kong Tree
Planting Day officiated by Chief Executive of the HKSAR Government.
In terms of our own efforts, the head office of the Housing Society at
World Trade Centre maintained its ‘Excellent Class’ status under the
Indoor Air Quality Certification Scheme of the Environmental Protection
Department, while regional offices in Dragon Centre and 1063 King’s
Road succeeded in keeping their ‘Good Class’ status.
在物業管理方面，房協亦推行了多項環保措
施。以二零一三年十一月為樂民新村安裝的
新升降機為例，便使用了變壓變頻控制器調
節電動機的輸入電壓和頻率，減低起動和停
止時的高峰電流，以節省能源。
在建築階段，該項目亦採用了「無機房」的
設計，以減少建築廢料及縮短施工期，符合
「屋宇裝備裝置能源效益實務守則」的標準。
另一方面，房協贊助多項與我們工作相關及
供公眾參與的綠色活動，包括由環境保護運
動委員會舉辦的「世界環境日」、世界自然基
金會的全球熄燈行動「地球一小時」、「香港
地球之友」的「知慳惜電」節能比賽，以及環
境局的「惜食香港運動」等。
我們鼓勵居民及員工參與各項環境保護活
動，包括世界自然基金會的「步走大自然
@
米埔」、「綠色力量」舉辦的「環島行慈善
行山比賽」、環保促進會的「環保嘉年華」、
環境保護署及香港生產力促進局合辦的「減
少廚餘工作坊」，以及由香港特別行政區行
政長官主禮的周年「香港植樹日」等。
就我們自己的工作而言，位於世界貿易中心
的總辦事處的空氣質素獲環境保護署主辦的
「優質室內空氣質素檢定計劃」評定為「卓越
級」，而位於龍濤苑的區域辦事處及英皇道
1063
號的辦公室則獲續發「良好級」。
