HKHS Achieves Multiple Wins in Quality Property and Facility Management for Creating People-Centric Communities of Well-being and Harmonious Living
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has recently been crowned multiple awards at the “Quality Property and Facility Management Award 2024” for its outstanding performance in property and facility management.  Cho Yiu Chuen, a rental estate, and The Tanner Hill, a non-subsidised quality elderly housing project, received the Grand Award in the categories of “Public Rental Housing” and “Community Housing” respectively.  The Tanner Hill also won the inaugural “Theme Award” by achieving the highest score in “Establishing a Wellness Harmony Community”.

HKHS’s “Chung Yuet Lau” Open for Transfer Application New Modular Block for Elderly Households with Lifetime Rent Exemption
The Hong Kong Housing Society's (HKHS) brand new elderly housing project "Chung Yuet Lau" at Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin, which is built with Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), will soon be completed.  It is now open for transfer application from elderly under-occupation (UO) households across HKHS rental estates.  Eligible households who successfully transferred to "Chung Yuet Lau" will enjoy lifetime full rent exemption and a one-off removal allowance.  Resident intake is expected to start in the second quarter of 2024 the soonest.

Housing Society welcomes and pledges full support to The Chief Executive's 2022 Policy Address
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) welcomes the initiatives on housing and land supply as stipulated in the Chief Executive's 2022 Policy Address.  These include the increase of public housing supply by enhancing quantity, speed, efficiency and quality; uplifting the productivity of construction industry such as adoption of Modular Integrated Construction (MiC); strengthening inter-departmental collaboration and streamlining housing development process.  As a close partner of the Government on housing policies, HKHS commits to render full support to the Government, as always, in increasing housing supply and providing decent accommodation for all.

Housing Society and Cyberport Signs MOU to Set Up Hong Kong's First PropTech Co-working Space
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) and Cyberport signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) today (14 October) on setting up the first-ever property technology (PropTech) co-working space in Hong Kong at HKHS's new office in the Northern Metropolis.  This collaboration will promote the development of smart city through different application solutions of innovative technologies and support the development of entrepreneurial talents and incubation of start-up enterprises.

Housing Society Honoured with Two Grand Prizes in "PR Awards 2022" for its Excellence in Epidemic Response and Public Relations Efforts
The Hong Kong Housing Society ("HKHS") achieved outstanding results at the "PR Awards 2022" ("the Awards") and was honoured with the Gold Prize in "PR Team of the Year" and the Bronze Prize in "Best COVID-19 Response", in recognition of its remarkable performance in public relations and community care efforts during the epidemic.

Housing Society Won its First Accolade in Quality Management
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has been honoured with the Excellence Award of the 2021 HKMA Quality Award by the Hong Kong Management Association (HKMA), in recognition of its pursuit of innovation, quality and people-friendly objectives in its business development and operation, as well as its excellent performance in quality management.  "HKMA Quality Award" is considered to be the most prestigious award for quality management in Hong Kong, which commends and recognises companies and enterprises that have achieved outstanding contribution and performance in quality management, and the judging criteria cover seven categories: Leadership; Strategy; Customers; Measurement, Analysis and Knowledge Management; Workforce; Operations and Results.

HKHS "T-Home" at Ming Wah Dai Ha Receives Nearly 900 Applications
The application for "T-Home" Transitional Housing Scheme units at Ming Wah Dai Ha (MWDH) of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) was closed on 6 October.  A total of 895 applications have been received, of which 327 are from 2-person households, 332 from 3-person households and 236 from 4-person households.

Housing Society Staff Tests Positive for COVID-19
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has just been notified that a staff member was tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member is an Assistant Manager working in the office of the Maintenance Section of Property Management Division at 1st Floor of Heya Star in Cheung Sha Wan, and the office concerned is not open to the public. Duties of the staff member concerned are of an administrative nature and do not require direct contact with the residents or the public, and the last date of attendance in office was 14 December. The staff member has been wearing face mask and following relevant disease prevention measures during work.

Housing Society Staff at Joyous Circle Tests Positive for COVID-19
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) was notified that a staff member has tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member concerned is an assistant cook at the Joyous Circle, a residential care home for the elderly at The Tanner Hill in North Point. His day-to-day duties did not require direct contact with the residents nor the public. He has been wearing facial masks and following relevant disease prevention measures during work.

The Elderly Resources Centre of Housing Society Undergone a Facelift to Provide New Experience of Gerontechnology for "Ageing in Place"
The "Elderly Resources Centre" (the Centre) of the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has been renovated and introduced more than a hundred gerontech products and facilities.  To be re-opened tomorrow (1 December), the Centre provides information and public education to advocate "ageing in place".  Members of the public can make visit appointments for free.

"Intergenerational Play Space Design Competition - Prosperous Garden" Showcases Innovative Winning Projects
Jointly organised by the Jockey Club Design Institute for Social Innovation (JCDISI) of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (PolyU) and Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS), the “Intergenerational Play Space Design Competition - Prosperous Garden” had been successfully concluded and the award presentation ceremony was held today (14 November).  The competition is one of the action projects under PolyU Jockey Club "Operation SoInno" project.

Housing Society Kicks Off “Bounce Back Together” Shopping Promotion Campaign
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) is set to kick off the “Bounce Back Together” Shopping Promotion Campaign on 1 October 2020, in which residents living in its 20 rental estates and elderly housing projects, as well as staff, will each be given one set of vouchers worth $100, to be spent at shops run by commercial tenants under HKHS.

Housing Society Extends Rent Concession for Commercial Tenants
With the approval given by its Executive Committee, the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced today (18 September) to extend the 75% rent concession for about 450 eligible commercial tenants and car park operators of HKHS for six months from 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021, in response to the Government’s latest relief measures. Eligible commercial tenants may apply for full rent waiver for the period during which their businesses are required to be closed due to closure orders or directions as part of the Government's anti-pandemic measures within the selfsame period.

Housing Society Announces 2020-2022 Rent Adjustment for Rental Estates
The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced that taking into account the prevailing economic situation and domestic tenants' affordability, HKHS will provide a two-month rent waiver to all domestic tenants for the months of October 2020 and October 2021, so as to offset the additional rental expenditure brought by the rent adjustment for the years 2020-2022 under the established rent review mechanism.

The application for "T-Home" Transitional Housing Scheme at Trackside Villas was closed on 2 June 2020. A total of 1,141 applications have been received, of which 609 are from 3-person households, 453 from 4-person households, 76 from 5-person households and 3 from 6-person households.

As the COVID-19 pandemic has severely disrupted Hong Kong's economy, there is a surge in unemployment and many fresh graduates are facing employment difficulties. Housing Society Increases Rent Concessions for Commercial Tenants
Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced today (7 ‪May) to increase rent concessions from 50% to 75% for about 450 eligible commercial tenants and car park operators for six months from 1 April to 30 September 2020, in response to the Government's relief measures to support enterprises announced last month. The rent relief also applies to tenants of kindergarten premises and signboard licensees.

The application for “T-Home” Transitional Housing Scheme at Kwun Tong Garden Estate (KTGE) of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) was closed on 10 March. A total of 745 applications have been received, of which 374 are from 3-person households, 307 from 4-person households and 64 from 5-person households.

Housing Society Offers Further Rent Concession for Commercial Tenants and Group B Rental Estate Tenants
The Executive Committee of the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) approved today (3 March) to extend the 50% rent concession for about 430 eligible commercial tenants and car park operators of HKHS for six months from 1 April to 30 September this year, in line with the Government's relief measures.  The total cost is about $87 million that will be borne by HKHS.

Over 100 Tertiary Students Presented with Hong Kong Housing Society Award
The Housing Society holds the 15th Hong Kong Housing Society Award (HKHS Award) presentation ceremony today (18 January). A total of 107 students from 12 local tertiary institutions and their continuing education schools and community colleges, as well as three member institutes of the Vocational Training Council, namely the Technological and Higher Education Institute of Hong Kong, the Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education and Hong Kong Design Institute, were presented with the HKHS Award.
