The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has recently been crowned multiple awards at the “Quality Property and Facility Management Award 2024” for its outstanding performance in property and facility management. Cho Yiu Chuen, a rental estate, and The Tanner Hill, a non-subsidised quality elderly housing project, received the Grand Award in the categories of “Public Rental Housing” and “Community Housing” respectively. The Tanner Hill also won the inaugural “Theme Award” by achieving the highest score in “Establishing a Wellness Harmony Community”.

The Hong Kong Housing Society's (HKHS) brand new elderly housing project "Chung Yuet Lau" at Jat Min Chuen in Sha Tin, which is built with Modular Integrated Construction (MiC), will soon be completed. It is now open for transfer application from elderly under-occupation (UO) households across HKHS rental estates. Eligible households who successfully transferred to "Chung Yuet Lau" will enjoy lifetime full rent exemption and a one-off removal allowance. Resident intake is expected to start in the second quarter of 2024 the soonest.

A total of 895 applications have been received, of which 327 are from 2-person households, 332 from 3-person households and 236 from 4-person households.

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has just been notified that a staff member was tested positive for COVID-19. The staff member is an Assistant Manager working in the office of the Maintenance Section of Property Management Division at 1st Floor of Heya Star in Cheung Sha Wan, and the office concerned is not open to the public. Duties of the staff member concerned are of an administrative nature and do not require direct contact with the residents or the public, and the last date of attendance in office was 14 December. The staff member has been wearing face mask and following relevant disease prevention measures during work.

The staff member concerned is an assistant cook at the Joyous Circle, a residential care home for the elderly at The Tanner Hill in North Point. His day-to-day duties did not require direct contact with the residents nor the public. He has been wearing facial masks and following relevant disease prevention measures during work.

With the approval given by its Executive Committee, the Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced today (18 September) to extend the 75% rent concession for about 450 eligible commercial tenants and car park operators of HKHS for six months from 1 October 2020 to 31 March 2021, in response to the Government’s latest relief measures. Eligible commercial tenants may apply for full rent waiver for the period during which their businesses are required to be closed due to closure orders or directions as part of the Government's anti-pandemic measures within the selfsame period.
