Housing Society Announces New Chief Executive Officer

Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced that its Deputy Chief Executive Officer James Chan will succeed Wong Kit-loong, the retiring Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director, on 1 April 2020.

James Chan joined HKHS as the Deputy Chief Executive Officer in December 2018.  Prior to that, he was the Chief Executive Officer of Po Leung Kuk for six years. He had also served in the Hong Kong Government for 20 years, working in various bureaux and departments at directorate level including Commerce and Economic Development Bureau, Home Affairs Department and the Administration Wing of the Chief Secretary for Administration's Office.

HKHS Chairman Walter Chan said, "Mr Chan has profound experience in administrative management.  His leadership and aspiration in driving Hong Kong's housing development will lead the organisation in continuing to serve the community and fulfill HKHS' mission of creating homes for Hong Kong people."

On the retirement of Wong Kit-loong, HKHS Chairman Walter Chan said, "Mr Wong has been with HKHS for nearly 26 years, serving as Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director since 2009.  His passion for work and outstanding management have been driving the success of HKHS in achieving strong results.  We would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to Mr Wong for his dedication and valuable contributions to Hong Kong's housing development over the years."
