Senior Citizen Residences Scheme

Launched in 1999 with two pilot projects completed in 2003 and 2004 respectively, the Senior Citizen Residences Scheme (SEN) provides residence integrating housing, recreation, medical and care services under one roof for the middle-income elderly.

The two projects, Jolly Place in Tseung Kwan O and Cheerful Court in Ngau Tau Kok, provide 576 residential units which were disposed of under a “long-lease” arrangement. Both elderly-friendly housing “hardware” and skilled care services “software” are provided to enable the residents to enjoy “ageing in place”.

Building on the successes of these two pilot projects, the third SEN project located at Lee Kung Street, Hung Hom will be developed while the facilities and design of the new project will be optimised based on experience with the two existing developments and feedback from our tenants. Construction of the project has been commenced with completion targeted in 2022.
