Dedicated Rehousing Estates

Dedicated Rehousing Estate (DRE) projects are developed by HKHS upon the commission of the Government. Eligible households affected by the Government's development clearance or the urban renewal programme may apply for the Subsidised Sale Flat or rental units within these projects without undergoing a comprehensive means test (CMT).

There are three DRE projects under construction in the New Territories, locating at Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen, Pak Wo Road in Fanling and Kwu Tung North. With progressive completion starting from 2024, these projects will provide approximately 7,000 units in the Northern Metropolis. Notably, Phase 1A of the Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen project is the first SSF project built with concrete MiC, with completion expected in 2024.

In addition, HKHS is developing DRE projects in the urban areas of Kowloon. Among them, the one at Kai Tak Area 1E Site 1 will provide about 1,100 DRE units upon completion in 2025/26. The other projects are under planning and located in Ma Tau Kok in To Kwa Wan and the urban squatter areas.
