Sandwich Class Housing Scheme

In the early 90s, the Housing Society was invited by the Government to develop properties for sale at concessionary prices to eligible middle-income families, subject to a five-year resale restriction. The first development, Tivoli Garden, was completed in 1995 followed by the other 12 developments, providing over 12,000 units.

In view of the change of market needs after 2000, 3 of the Sandwich Class Housing developments were converted into private properties for sale at full market values. These include Cayman Rise in Kennedy Town, Mountain Shore in Ma On Shan and Serenity Place in Tseung Kwan O. Thus, there are at present only 10 Sandwich Class Housing developments providing around 9,000 units.
