The Housing Society manages a portfolio of 20 rental estates and provides property management services for other residential properties. Please click here for the full list.

Besides, Hong Kong Housing Authority (HA) manages over 180 public rental housing estates and more than 160 Home Ownership Scheme (HOS) courts. Please click here to contact HA directly for further information about its estates/HOS courts.

Should there be any queries or suggestions on management of the rental estates/residential properties of the Housing Society, please contact the respective Estate/Property Management Offices directly for assistance.

Tenants are required to submit an application to the Estate Management Office and obtain written approval before commencement of any decoration works. Tenants will be responsible for restoring the fixtures and fittings to their original form in good condition at their own expenses upon termination of tenancy.

To encourage intergenerational living and improve the living condition of tenants with three or more generations, the Housing Society introduced the Cross Generation Living Scheme in March 2006. Existing households with three generations or more can apply for two separate flats under one tenancy in the same estate.

In view of the high population density at rental estates, keeping live poultry, animals or pets could potentially affect environmental hygiene and other tenants. As such, according to the tenancy agreement between the Housing Society and tenants, tenants are not allowed to keep any live poultry, animals or pets in rental units.

Public housing is valuable social resources. Please inform the respective Estate Management Offices for any abuse of public housing resources and facilitate our staff to look into the cases.

To satisfy the needs of senior residents in housing, healthcare and social support, and enable them to age in place, the Housing Society rolled out the Ageing-in-Place Scheme in 2012, providing services such as health assessment, case referral and home modification assessments. Besides, the CES (Caring, Engaging and Smart) Team was set up in early 2021. The Team offers support to elders and residents of rental estates through case management, therapeutic group activities, mass programmes as well as mutual support networks. The Rent Assistance Scheme of the Housing Society aims to offer short-term relief to tenants of rental estates. Eligible households will be granted either 25% or 50% rent reduction for a term of two years.

Car parking spaces are available for leasing for residents/commercial tenants at certain estates/residential properties of the Housing Society.

Interested parties can obtain details and the application form at the respective Estate Management Offices or car park shroff offices.

Should there be any queries or suggestions about carparks at rental estates/residential properties managed by the Housing Society, please contact the respective Estate/Property Management Offices or car park operators for assistance.

The Housing Society introduced the “Building Maintenance Grant Scheme for Elderly Owners” and “Mandatory Building Inspection Subsidy Scheme”, both of which has ceased to accept new applications. Should you require any assistance, please contact the Urban Renewal Authority at (852)3188 1188 to know more about its “Integrated Building Rehabilitation Assistance Scheme”.

Besides, the Housing Society has launched the “Voluntary Building Assessment Scheme” (VBAS). Buildings certified under the VBAS will be recognised by the Building Authority for having fulfilled the requirements under the “Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme” and the “Mandatory Window Inspection Scheme” (in respect of windows in common parts only) within the respective inspection cycles. Rental units of the Housing Society are categorised into two groups, A and B. Group A caters to low-income families whereas Group B targets families of relatively higher incomes. The rental rates for these two categories of rental housing, with different eligibility requirements, are set at different discounted market prices. Please click here for details.

At present, Group A rental estates of the Housing Society are not open for application. Group A rental estates only accept applicants holding designated and valid Hong Kong Housing Authority Public Rental Housing application numbers. For Group B rental estates, application was closed as from 1 July 2011. Please click here for details.

Rental units of the Housing Society are not open for application.

Application for public rental housing (PRH) is handled by HA. HA invites eligible PRH applicants to apply for Group A rental units of the Housing Society according to its application procedures. For any queries, please contact HA directly at (852)2712 2712 or [email protected].

The Housing Society provides elderly housing for low- to middle-income elderly as well as those in more favourable financial conditions. The options include Elderly Persons’ Flats, Senior Citizen Residences Scheme, Harmony Place and The Tanner Hill. Please click here for details about Elderly Persons’ Flats. The Housing Society has rolled out five “T-Home” Transitional Rental Housing projects so far, located at Yue Kwong Chuen, Kwun Tong Garden Estate, Trackside Villas, Chun Seen Mei Chuen and Ming Wah Dai Ha respectively. Please click here for details.

The “Letting Scheme for Subsidised Sale Developments with Premium Unpaid” allows eligible owners of designated subsidised sale flats provided by the Housing Society and Hong Kong Housing Authority with premium unpaid to let their flat/bedroom(s) to eligible public rental housing applicants as “T-Home”. Interested owners or tenants may visit the designated webpage of “Letting Scheme” for details and download the application form.

For all new projects for sale, the Housing Society will make public announcement of the project information as well as the sales arrangements.

The Sandwich Class Housing Scheme is also bound by eligibility criteria and resale restrictions, please click here for details. Besides, some  housing projects of the Housing Society are available for sale in the free market without any eligibility criteria or resale restrictions. They include:

Flat owners of Flat-for-Sale Scheme and Subsidised Sale Flats Projects or their authorised persons, from the third year onwards from the date of first assignment, may apply for the Certificate of Availability of Sale and sell their flats to eligible buyers, without having to pay a premium.

Subsidised sale housing is bound by a five-year resale restriction. After five years from the date of assignment, flat owners may apply for assessment of premium and lifting the resale restrictions after paying the premium. Please click here for the guidelines and application form.

Owners of Flat-for-Sale Scheme/Sandwich Class Housing Scheme/Subsidised Sale Flats Project units are allowed to obtain additional loan with premium not yet paid if they have financial needs. However, they must fulfil the requirements stated in the guidelines issued by Transport and Housing Bureau and obtain prior approval from the Housing Society. To recognise academic excellence and provide assistance for students with financial needs, the Housing Society offers three scholarship/bursary schemes open for public application:

  • Hong Kong Housing Society Award – for students from local tertiary institutions and their continuing education schools and community colleges, as well as member institutions of the Vocational Training Council. Please refer to the announcements by the respective schools/institutions for details
  • Father Cronin Memorial Award – for outstanding students of the Master of Housing Management Programme of The University of Hong Kong. Please refer to the announcements by the respective schools/institutions for details
  • Caring Engaging Smart (CES) Scholarship – for current-year “Hong Kong Diploma of Secondary Education Examination (HKDSE)” students residing in the rental estates of the Housing Society. Please refer to the announcements at rental estates for details

The Hong Kong Housing Society Academy Alumni Club was established in 2019 to promote personal and professional development through activities and volunteer services. All awardees of the Housing Society’s scholarships or bursaries can be members of the Alumni Club.

For qualified property management service contractors who are interested to be admitted to the Housing Society’s Approved Contractor List, please send your application in writing by mail to the Property Division of the Housing Society (address: 8/F, 1063 King's Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong; specifying “Application for Admission to Approved Contractor List” on the envelope). Please click here for the required qualifications of the approved lists. Contractors will be contacted upon receipt of the application by the Housing Society.

For property development, the Housing Society makes reference to the lists of consultants and building contractors maintained by the respective Government departments. For building services equipment and fittings, suppliers who are interested to be part of our supplier lists can send their application in writing by mail to the Projects Division of the Housing Society (address: 8/F, 1063 King’s Road, Quarry Bay, Hong Kong, Hong Kong Housing Society).
