Transitional Rental Housing Scheme

Ming Wah Dai Ha

To optimise the use of existing housing resources and to alleviate the hardship faced by families who are living in inadequate housing and waiting for public rental housing for a long time, Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) has launched the”T-Home” Transitional Rental Housing Scheme – Ming Wah Dai Ha (The Scheme) in October 2021 to provide adequate housing for families with imminent housing needs in some of the vacant domestic flats in Block A – E at Ming Wah Dai Ha (click here for the layout plan) before the redevelopment of the blocks. While Phase I Redevelopment of Ming Wah Dai Ha (Block 1 & 2) is NOT included in this Scheme.

There are “T-Home” units suitable only for 2-4 person families for application, eligible persons can apply via the "TH-E" — Central and Unified Platform for Transitional Housing of the Housing Bureau (click here for application) from 16 July 2024 until all units are occupied.

Trackside Villas

HKHS partnered with MTR Corporation Limited (MTRCL) to refurbish vacant flats at Trackside Villas, a MTRCL property located in Tai Po. By optimising the use of existing housing resources, the vacant flats are converted into transitional housing. Families applying for public rental housing (PRH) and people in need of community support are provided with a transitional housing option to improve their living environment.

As of January 2023, about 130 units were operated directly by HKHS as “T-Home”. Apart from the HKHS-operated transitional housing at Trackside Villas, HKHS also engaged the Hong Kong Council of Social Services to operate about 50 transitional housing units under their “Community Housing Movement” scheme.

The application of Trackside Villas’ “T-Home” was closed in February 2023 and the relevant flats were allocated to eligible applicants.
