"T-Home" at Kwun Tong Garden Estate of HKHS Receives Over 700 Applications

The application for "T-Home" Transitional Housing Scheme at Kwun Tong Garden Estate (KTGE) of Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) was closed on 10 March.  A total of 745 applications have been received, of which 374 are from 3-person households, 307 from 4-person households and 64 from 5-person households.

Computer balloting for the applications has been scheduled for 1 April to determine the priority number for flat allocation. Based on the applicants' priority number and family size, invitation will be issued to the eligible applicants for flat allocation.  The applicants who accept the flat assigned will be required to sign the Monthly License, and the first batch of successful applicants are expected to move in in the second quarter of 2020. All applicants will only be given one opportunity of flat allocation.  If the allocation is refused, or if the applicant does not attend the flat allocation procedures, the application concerned will be cancelled.

KTGE (Phase II) is now undergoing a planning study for its redevelopment, in which Yin Chee Lau and Hay Cheuk Lau have been earmarked for its first phase redevelopment. The vacant units in these two blocks are renovated before being converted into transitional housing for eligible families who are on the waiting list of public rental housing, in a way to optimise the use of existing housing resources. There are 20 odd units for the first batch of "T-Home" at KTGE, and more vacated units are expected on the way prior to the redevelopment.

Applicants may call the Scheme Hotline 8103-0330 for enquiries.  Details of the Scheme also available at the website https://www.hkhs.com/en/application/t-home.
