"T-Home" at Trackside Villas Opens for Application

Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced today (18 May 2020) that the "T-Home" at Trackside Villas will be open for application, starting 20 May 2020 until 2 June 2020, by eligible families who are on the waiting list of public rental housing.

HKHS signed a Licence Agreement with MTR Corporation Limited (MTRC) on the use of their property, Trackside Villas in Tai Po, to operate a transitional housing project for five years.

Currently a total of 185 units at Trackside Villas are available for renovation and to be converted into transitional housing.  Among those, over 130 units will be operated by HKHS as "T-Home" for three-person to six-person families who have been on the waiting list of public rental housing for three years or above.  Approximately 50 remaining units will be handed over to Hong Kong Council of Social Service for sub-letting and operation.

HKHS Chief Executive Officer James Chan said, “The overwhelming response received for the 'T-Home' projects at Yue Kwong Chuen and Kwun Tong Garden Estate reflects a strong public demand on transitional housing.  Our collaboration with MTRC will again maximise the use of existing housing resources, and help improve the living conditions of low-income families within a short period of time.”
