HKHS Appoints New Supervisory Board and Executive Committee Members

Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced new membership of its Supervisory Board and Executive Committee following its Annual General Meeting held today (18 October 2001).

Being responsible for setting the mission and the overall direction of the Housing Society, the Supervisory Board was first set up last year with the adoption of a 2-tier governance structure. The Supervisory Board members serve for a term of three years. On a rotation basis, one third of the board members will retire each year.

At the Supervisory Board Meeting held immediately after the Annual General Meeting today, the Executive Committee for the year 2001/2002 was also appointed.

The Executive Committee is responsible for setting policies and strategies within the guiding principles and monitoring operational performance of the Society. Members of the Executive Committee shall serve for a term of three years, but at least one-third of the members (excluding the Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary for Housing, Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director) shall retire from office at each Annual General Meeting.
