Housing Society Supports the Government to Promote Elderly-friendly Building Design

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) welcomes the establishment of the “Task Force on Promoting Elderly-friendly Building Design” (Task Force) by the Government and its first meeting convened today (6 February).  HKHS also pledges to render full support to the Task Force’s work.

As a member of the Task Force, HKHS Chief Executive Officer will share HKHS’s experience in developing elderly housing projects, as well as the experience in studying and implementing universal and accessible designs.

As an advocate of ageing in place, HKHS has launched the “Senior Citizen Residences Scheme” and other elderly housing projects over the years.  The residential units of these projects are designed with elderly-friendly facilities, to meet the housing needs of the ageing population.  As a close partner of the Government, HKHS is honored to be recognised by the Government for its on-going work in promoting elderly-friendly facilities and ageing in place.  HKHS looks forward to working together with the Government and various stakeholders to create quality building designs for meeting the community needs.
