Housing Society Welcomes and Pledges Full Support to The Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) fully supports the housing policies promulgated in the Chief Executive’s 2025 Policy Address.  HKHS welcomes the Housing Authority’s (HA) launching of its “Flat-for-Flat Scheme for Elderly Owners” to optimise the use of housing resources, and is pleased to discuss with HA on the assistance needed for the implementation and management of the scheme.  The HA and HKHS will also introduce a pilot scheme, enabling owners who have owned their subsidised sale flats for ten years or more, after paying relevant fee, to let their flats to eligible white form applicants with premium unpaid.  HKHS is pleased to be entrusted for the implementation and management of the pilot scheme, with the detailed arrangements to be discussed and confirmed with the HA.

In order to encourage more people to become home owners, HKHS will explore to increase the ratio of subsidised sale flats in its future housing plans, and will make corresponding adjustments to the sale arrangements and relax the resale policy in accordance with the Government’s measures.  In addition, HKHS will spare no efforts in forging ahead with the Dedicated Rehousing Estate projects, including “Casa Eminence” in Hung Shui Kiu/Ha Tsuen, “Casa Sierra” in Fanling and a project in Kwu Tung North, to support the Northern Metropolis development, and will maintain dialogues with the Development Bureau on more of such projects to support the development plan in other areas within the Northern Metropolis.

As a close and reliable partner of the Government in housing policies, HKHS is committed to working with the Government to provide stable and quality housing, and to create homes for sustainable living.
