Housing Society Relaunches Shopping Promotion Campaign to Stimulate Economy and Encourage Vaccination

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) is set to launch the "Bounce Back Together" Shopping Promotion Campaign on 1 August 2021.  Residents living in its 20 rental estates and elderly housing projects, as well as all HKHS’s staff, will each be given one set of cash coupons worth $100 for use at around 280 shops operated by HKHS’s commercial tenants.

Besides, to encourage vaccination if ones' conditions allow in order to achieve herd immunity for safer shopping, residents of HKHS's rental estates and elderly housing projects and HKHS staff who have received dose(s) of the COVID-19 vaccines in Hong Kong on or before 31 August 2021 will be given extra set(s) of cash coupons in early September – one extra set for one dose and two extra sets for two doses.  A total of 200,000 sets of cash coupons have been prepared for the campaign.

HKHS Corporate Communications Director Pamela Leung said, "The Shopping Promotion Campaign implemented last year received very positive responses from residents and participating merchants.  As the COVID-19 pandemic has gradually subsided, we hope that this year's Campaign can help boost local spending while benefitting both our residential and commercial tenants."

Coupon holders can use the cash coupons at participating shops from 1 August to 22 September 2021.  One $10 cash coupon can be used for every purchase of not less than $10.  Multiple cash coupons can be used for one single purchase.  Arrangements have been made for residents to collect the cash coupons during July, and details of the Campaign are available on HKHS website.

This year, HKHS has specially designed a set of masks themed "Having Fun" for giving to the residents together with the cash coupons and greeting cards written by the young people from the HKHS Academy Alumni Club and internship programmes, hoping to extend care and blessings amidst the pandemic.
