Application and Queuing Arrangements
for HKHS Senior Citizen Residences Scheme Projects

The Hong Kong Housing Society (HKHS) announced today (25 July) that the application and queuing arrangements of the prevailing Senior Citizen Residences Scheme (the Scheme) projects would be applicable to all projects under the Scheme, including the two completed projects, namely Jolly Place and Cheerful Court, and the projects under construction.

Jolly Place in Tseung Kwan O and Cheerful Court in Ngau Tau Kok were open for application in 2003 and 2004 respectively.  Since 2006, the Scheme has adopted a single-queue arrangement under which applicants do not need to specify their choice(s) of estate when they submit applications until they are invited for assessment of eligibility.  HKHS assigns a priority number to each application and arrange interviews for eligibility assessment in the order of the priority numbers which are sequenced in accordance to the online submission dates or the postmark dates of the applications received.

At present, all flats of the two existing projects, Jolly Place in Tseung Kwan O and Cheerful Court in Ngau Tau Kok, have been largely rented out with about 500 applications on the waiting list.  HKHS will allocate flats to eligible applicants according to their priority numbers, household size and choice of estate, whenever there is vacant flat available for letting.

Under the single-queue arrangement, eligible applicants can choose flats among Jolly Place, Cheerful Court and projects under construction including the Lee Kung Street project in Hung Hom and the Pak Wo Road project in Fanling, that are scheduled for completion by the end of this year and in 2024 respectively.  HKHS reiterates that those applicants who are currently on the waiting list of the Scheme do not need to submit a new application even if they are interested in the projects which are yet to be completed.

For any enquiries, members of the public can call the Scheme’s Application Hotline at 2839 7111 / 2894 3222 or visit the Scheme’s website (https://sen.hkhs.com).
