Mandatory Building Inspection Subsidy Scheme

The HKHS ceased to accept new applications for the Mandatory Building Inspection Subsidy Scheme (MBISS) with effect from 9 July 2018, but HKHS will continue to follow through the applications received prior to that day. The Urban Renewal Authority (URA) is responsible for handling all new MBISS applications, including the areas originally served by HKHS.

The Mandatory Building Inspection Scheme has been implemented by the Buildings Department since 30 June 2012. In order to offer assistance to owners in need for complying with the statutory requirements, HKHS and URA jointly launched the MBISS and started to accept applications from October 2012 to provide financial assistance to eligible owners.

For enquiries related to MBISS or application on or after 9 July 2018, please contact the URA’s hotline at (852) 3188 1188 or visit URA’s website (http://www.ura.org.hk).
